Ozolea-Mast Mastitis Treatment is
an intramammary application for use in dairy cows to treat mastitis during
lactation and at dry-off. Antibiotic-free treatment with no milk withhold, so
you can continue to sell milk during treatment. Made with a single ingredient;
pure human-food-grade vegetable oil, bioengineered with exclusive Ozolea
technology. Therefore, when the product is inserted into the teat canal, it
forms a physical film barrier. This creates an unfavorable environment for
bacteria and reduces bacterial aggression in the teat canal while protecting
the tissue from further environmental bacterial exposure.
Ozolea-Mast
encourages the tissue to naturally regenerate. Once regenerated, the tissue can
fully perform its natural defense function in fending off bacteria. The primary
function of this lactating cow treatment and dry cow treatment product is to
support the health and function of the teat canal tissue so the cow can defend
itself from bacterial aggression and minimize future possible bacterial
aggressions. The oil is not absorbed or metabolized, so there is no residue
worry. Between milkings, the applied oil is naturally eliminated from the teat
sphincter, preventing more bacteria from entering the teat canal. This allows
the teat tissue and sphincter to regenerate its natural elasticity. Helps
reduce the use of antibiotics. Use at first signs of altered milk and presence
of milk flakes in lactating cows; also for selective dry cow treatment and
chronically high somatic cell count situations.
Always use best hygiene practices.
Lactating use: 1
applicator per sensitive quarter after each milking for 4 days. Milk the cow as
usual. Gently insert the teat-safe end of the applicator into the affected
quarter. Gently apply the product and rub 5 to 6 seconds. Check the absence of
milk flakes day by day.
Dry cow use: 1
applicator per quarter after the second-to-last milking and an applicator per
quarter after the last milking.
Chronically high somatic cell
count: 1 tube per sensitive quarter with high SCC and no clear signs of
mastitis. Repeat the application after each milking for 4 days per sensitive
quarter. Identify the sensitive quarter and milk the cow as usual. Gently
insert the plastic teat-safe needle into the teat canal. Gently apply the product
and rub 5 to 6 seconds. Check the SCC 8 days after the last application. If
necessary, repeat the treatment to further lower SCC.
